Some Things Never Change :)

My mother is so wise. The night I started to unpack, I went to the bathroom to put something away and the next thing my mommy heard was a bang and "OW!" and I hear the true true statement of " O sweetie, some things never change" quickly followed by the laugh I had missed all semester. Yes I ran into the cupboard door but whatever I run into things all the time. But that statement has stuck with me all week while I've been getting used to being home again.

Some things really never do change and I'm so very glad. Seems like everything has been changing this past year. Some changes obviously more pleasant than others but still I'm so glad for the things that didn't change. I'm glad i got picked up at the airport in the car I got dropped off and picked up in during high school. And I'm glad my mom and I cried like little girls. And I'm glad she put up balloons and made me take pictures outside the house just like when I was little. And I'm really glad the house was still the same. I'm so glad I was reminded of all the sweet times I've had with my family throughout the years.

Of course I miss BYU and all my friends like a hungry racoon misses a smelly trash can or like a pig misses mud on a hot day. I couldn't have gotten through school without them. But I'm so glad to be home for the summer.

I love Texas.
I love home.
I love that some things never change :)

Wow, its finally here. the end.

Well this is my very first post. Seems a little silly that I'm just now starting this at the very end of my freshman year at college. And I do mean the VERY END. As in I am all done with finals and essays and everything. All there is left is to pack and clean and to fly home. It seems like I was just boarding the plane coming out to UT.

Where did the time go? O wait, I forgot, I had CRAZY SUPER AMOUNTS OF FUN! From random dances in parking lots, to movies in the roundabout, to 15 hour dates. Adventures filled my life and I absolutely loved it.

My BYU family is the best! We are all so different and somehow it just works out. The girls on my floor were absolutely amazing. Not to mention my super crazy awesome roommate. Seriously changed my life forever. I am so grateful for all my wonderful, and not so wonderful experiences here.

Did I mention how grateful I am for my friends and family back home too??? Especially my mommy. She is so amazing. Who else would wake up at 1 am just to talk to me because I've had a particularly awful day? Mmmmmmm NO ONE. I love her so much.

Packing is depressing.

It means I have to leave.

It means I'm not going to see some of my friends for two flipping years.

It means I have to go home and work. O joy.

It means it's the end of an amazing year.

Saying goodbye to my friends that have left so far has basically been awful. I hatehatehatehatehate goodbyes. I can't seem to say goodbye to someone without leaking from my eyes. Bother. I've decided that next year is just going to have be better than this year. We'll see how that goes because right now I'm pretty positive that that is absolutely, without fail impossible.

Anways, there are some suitcases and boxes calling my name so that's it for blog post number 1.
